GULFBOARD 3MM, 4MM, 6MM

To protect waterproofing membranes and waterproofing systems on:

  • car parks and tunnels against impact and abrasion damage from site traffic and from sharp
    materials during backfill operations.

Gulfboard are stacked over pallets and wrapped. Store on ground level in dry and shaded area the pallets should be loaded or off loaded with the help of crane or forklift to prevent damage. Stack not more than one pallet high.

Gulfboard can be spot bonded on to membrane by torch application method and pressed with a hard roller to strengthen the adhesion of the melted bitumen compound with the membrane surface. Once the board is fixed in place supports must be provided to keep the boards in place till the adhesion is strong enough to hold the board. Subsequent boards shall be laid continuously by butt fitting the edges. For irregular profiles the board shall be cut to fit all intersections.

Application of protection board should be avoided in case of extreme weather. The ambient temperature during application should be between 4 Β°C and 45 Β°C.

All safety measures should be observed during application. Fire extinguishers should be available on site. Care should be taken with gas, and torches should not be rested on finished surface or on any materials that can be scratched by flame or hot torch. Gloves and goggles should be worn by all workers during application.
